Enjoy a comfortable home-like atmosphere of the library housed in the same building as the Village Hall. The library is to enhance the community quality of life by providing easily accessed materials, services, and programs to enrich, inform, and entertain. One of the highest priorities is the community children. Mid-morning story hours and the summer reading program are eagerly attended by many community children each year.

In addition to books, a variety of videos, periodicals, and audio books are available for check out. Large print books and a talking book program are available for those who require special needs service. Additional services include fax, copy machine and computers with Internet access.

The library programs thrive due to the generous contributions from community residents, organizations, and businesses. The “Friends of the Annawan Library” help our library grow through their volunteerism provided and the fundraisers held to offer our community expanded services and programs. Membership form to join the “Friends of the Annawan Library.

Tuesday and Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Wednesday: 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Library Services

Library Card:
Available at no cost with a form of ID with proof of community residency.

Interlibrary Loan:
We have access to the RAILS (Reaching across Illinois Library System) which enables us to locate and deliver books and information for all library patrons.

Reciprocal Borrowing:
You may use a valid Annawan library card to check materials out from other Illinois libraries.

Special Needs:
Large print books and talking books are available with home delivery. The library is handicapped accessible and extended periods of time may be arranged for older people, teachers and organizations.

Magazines:
The library subscribes to 30 magazines.

Fax and Copy Service: 
Color, black & white, and fax services available for a small fee.

Children’s Reading Program:
Story Hours: Seasonal programs are offered on Tuesday Mornings October-May for 3-5 year olds at 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

Summer Reading Program:
Each summer children (Pre-K through 8th grade) look forward to the themed reading program which begins the first Monday after Annawan Fun Days. They meet every Monday, returning books, checking out more books, and enjoy a weekly program.

Reserve:
You may put your name on a reserve list for new and popular items.

Book Drop:
Located in front of the building for your convenience.

Book Club:
Sept-May, 4th Monday of the month 6:30-7:30pm.

Memorials:
Memorials are a practical, gracious way to pay a lasting tribute to a loved one. Whether you choose to commemorate with the donation of a book, furniture item, technology equipment, or an endowment for programs in the general gift fund – the library is a great way to honor a loved one. The result is a living memorial that will endure for years.
